Valvoline announces going big with greases

Valvoline Inc., a leading worldwide supplier of premium branded lubricants and automotive services, has made a serious move into the market of greases. Since the 2019 acquisition of a respectable manufacturer of greases and industrial oils in Serbia, strategically located to serve Central Eastern Europe and Russia, the company has invested in a state-of-the-art research and development facility and upgraded its production capacity to facilitate future growth.

Today more than 100 unique formulations of multipurpose and specialty industry greases are available to meet the demands of a wide range of industries, including mining, steel, construction and marine. Depending on the formulation, each grease exhibits properties to handle various loads, temperatures, shear, and stress levels and meet the unique requirements of various industry segments’ needs.

“Grease selection is a key factor in ensuring efficiency, durability, reliability and the successful operation of machinery and equipment,” says Diego Cesare Brodoni, VP and General Manager Valvoline Europe. “When operators select a lubricant that has been optimized to suit their requirements, they can achieve superior equipment performance, as well as tangible cost savings.”

“That is the reason why Valvoline greases are developed and tested according to the highest industry standards and designed to endure the harsh operating environments in which they are used, so that our customers can trust the performance and benefits from lower operating costs,” he adds. “I am proud that Valvoline is expanding its portfolio in greases! Relying on our 150-year strong heritage, proven field and technical expertise and R&D capabilities in lubrication, combined with ultimate customer orientation, I am confident that Valvoline will soon be recognized as industry leader in greases!”

Available product technology includes, among others, Lithium, Lithium Calcium, Lithium Complex and Specialty greases, each developed with the end-user in mind to offer outstanding capabilities and added value by minimizing downtime and reducing maintenance costs. Thanks to the company’s in-house quality control laboratory and unique testing program, with 165 formulation testing methods, Valvoline greases are validated for all operating conditions.

Valvoline greases were introduced in phases - multipurpose and additional NLGI grade greases were rolled-out in March and May, while specialty greases will be introduced in October.
