Petrol Ofisi launches special product line for electric vehicles

Petrol Ofisi continues to develop new products for its customers in line with the changing market needs with the slogan “Ready for Tomorrow”.

Petrol Ofisi has recently developed special products for electric vehicles, the number of which is increasing in the Turkish automotive market, at its lubricant factory in Derince district of Kocaeli. The new Electric Vehicle (EV) Series products developed at the Petrol Ofisi Technology Center (POTEM), one of the most important centers of technology in Turkey and the nearby geography, will provide solutions to the cooling and lubrication needs of electric vehicles.

The EV Series, the formula development processes of which have been completed and that has been made ready for sale, include advanced technology products such as Maxima EV Fluid, the coolant needed for electric vehicles, MaxiGear EV Transmission Fluid to be used in power transmission systems, and Ultra Grease EV developed for electric motors. The EV series offer high performance for electric vehicles providing the heat balance needed by the batteries and preventing power losses. The products have been specially formulated with low electrical conductivity and environmental impact.

Petrol Ofisi Lubricants Director Sezgin Gürsu said, “As the industry leader, we are ready for tomorrow in terms of electric vehicles as in every other field. In order to meet the expectations of the rapidly developing market, we have developed our electric vehicle (EV) series products at our Petrol Ofisi Technology Center and launched them for sale. We will produce these products, which were developed at POTEM, our Petrol Ofisi Technology Center, and meet the special needs of electric vehicles in the most ideal way, in our factory in Derince. We believe that this development will contribute positively to meeting the needs of the market with domestic production instead of importing the electric vehicle products.”

Petrol Ofisi, whose sales figure exceeded 148,000 tons in 2021, has an annual production capacity of approximately 150 thousand tons and a storage capacity of 66 thousand tons. The company produces more than 400 products, mainly Maxima and Maximus at their Derince plant and exports these products to 33 countries in 4 continents. Sezgin Gürsu in his statement drew attention to the increasing market share of electric vehicles, which has reached a share of approximately 11 percent in Turkey and said: “As Petrol Ofisi Lubricants, we will continue to lead the sector and exports with our innovative products in the electric vehicles market.”
