TotalEnergies Launches Premium Regenerated Oil Range for Heavy-Duty Vehicles

After the launch of Quartz EV3R, its first range of lubricants for light vehicles based on high-end / premium regenerated oils, TotalEnergies Lubrifiants is going one step further by extending this innovation to heavy-duty vehicles with the new dedicated Rubia EV3R range.

TotalEnergies Lubrifiants translates its eco-responsible policy into concrete action with its new regenerated oils for heavy-duty vehicles. The new Rubia EV3R range reflects its climate strategy aiming at lowering the CO2 emissions generated by its own operations and helping its clients to decarbonize their own activities. Named Rubia EV3R (for Reduce, Reuse and Regenerate), this premium range specifically developed for heavy-duty vehicles is approved by numerous manufacturers and offers the same levels of performance and protection as conventional oils. The Rubia EV3R range is available for supply in Europe in 15W-40 and 10W-30 grades with homologations of all leading OEMs equivalent to the company’s conventional lubricants range.

An eco-design approach

To help its customers in their decarbonization efforts, TotalEnergies Lubrifiants has developed Rubia EV3R products with circularity in mind: RRBOs (re-refined high-end base oils) account for more than 50% of the base oils of these products. Customers in the lubricants sector are also faced with the operational challenge of managing their plastic waste. Today, reducing the environmental footprint of a product’s life cycle means using recycled plastics. This is why these new environmentally friendly lubricants will be packed in 5-liter containers made from 50% recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE), recognizable by their silver color.

A stronger commitment to the circular economy

TotalEnergies recently acquired Tecoil, a Finnish company specializing in manufacturing high-end RRBOs. Tecoil treats used lubricating oils (ULO) with the most effective “re-refining” process available on the market to give them back properties and performance comparable to those of the very best virgin base oils. Tecoil’s expertise has been combined with that of TotalEnergies Lubrifiants in the manufacture and distribution of lubricants to meet growing customer demand for increasingly high-performance, environmentally friendly products. This acquisition reinforces TotalEnergies Lubrifiants’ commitment to the circular economy and sustainable lubricant solutions.

Pierre Duhot, Senior Vice President Lubricants and Specialties at TotalEnergies, said:

“We are proud to launch the Rubia EV3R range for the Heavy-duty segment. TotalEnergies Lubrifiants is dedicated to driving the transformation towards sustainable transport without compromising on performance. This first manufacturer-approved high-performance circular economy lubricants range is a proof of our commitment.”
