Tüpraş-ODTÜ alliance for Data Analysis Center at ODTÜ TEKNOKENT

Tüpraş, ODTÜ and ODTÜ TEKNOKENT signed a protocol on November 6, 2017 for carrying out joint studies within the framework of university-industry cooperation. Tüpraş, which has already been collaborating with the Chemical Engineering Department of ODTÜ, aims to increase the industry-university cooperation with this protocol by carrying out joint studies with the related departments in relation to the priority research areas. In cooperation with the related departments in ODTÜ, it is envisaged to open a Data Analysis Center at ODTÜ TEKNOKENT and develop joint projects within the technopolis ecosystem, organize training programs and activities, providing support by ODTÜ TEKNOKENT for joint projects, organize “start-up” programs for entrepreneurs, participate to current programs, to provide access to qualified human resources for supporting research activities of Tüpraş, and to establish cooperation for the establishment of sectoral technopolis, incubation center and similar structures.

ODTÜ TEKNOKENT Information Innovation and Data Analysis Center, planned to start its activities in 2018, will provide support for developing joint projects between Tüpraş and ODTÜ TEKNOKENT within the techopolis ecosystem.

Tüpraş announced Q3 financial results

In the third quarter of the year 2017, Tüpraş generated 7.7 million tons of domestic sales and 1.2 million tons of international sales, totaling 8.9 million tons. The company increased its net sales by 52 percent to 14,3 billion TL. With the correct financial risk management policies in place, Tüpraş achieved 1.23 billion TL profit before tax in the third quarter of 2017. In the same period the corporate governance rate increased from 94.15 to 94.67. As a result, Tüpraş continued its investments in line with its targets and made 124.3 million US$ refinery related investments and 73.5 million US$ marine investments during the first nine months of 2017, and increased its sales revenue to 39.3 billion TL and its net profit to 3.3 billion TL.
