Creating added value through advanced re-refining technology and leading the circular economy, TAYRAŞ became the main sponsor of the “1st Industrial Sustainability Green Transformation Workshop” organized by Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University.
The workshop, hosted by Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University between October 12 – 14, 2023, brought together participants from academia, business and civil society. The workshop, where sustainability practices of company representatives from different sectors were presented and sustainability strategies were shared, offered participants the opportunity to share information and experience, while problems and needs in the field of sustainability were also discussed.
TAYRAŞ Refinery Manager Mr. Kadir Dağdemir made a presentation titled “Sustainable Production: TIDRABASE” at the workshop. After his presentation about the TIDRABASE product produced by TAYRAŞ from waste lubricants with hydrotreatment technology, Dağdemir was awarded with a plaque. TAYRAŞ Environmental Management Unit Officer Ms. Esin Eray Demir was presented a plaque by Prof. Dr. Şükrü Beydemir, Rector of Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University, for TAYRAŞ’s contributions to the workshop.

TAYRAŞ was also the main sponsor of the 13th TÜRKTAY held in Ankara on October 18 – 19, 2023. Representatives from the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, local governments, universities, employee associations, non-governmental organizations and private sector representatives participated in the workshop organized under the main theme of “Financing of Raw Material and Energy Production from Waste in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and its Impact on the Climate.”
In the conference and seminars organized during the two-day workshop, which attracted high-level participation, all aspects of waste management were discussed. Dr. Erol Metin, Advisor of the Board of Directors of TAYRAŞ, gave a lecture on “Priority Problems and Solutions in Waste Management” during the workshop and informed the participants about the problems experienced in practice regarding the waste management and the steps to be taken.
