Vanderbilt, a prominent supplier of a diverse range of products tailored for the Petroleum, Rubber, Plastics, Polyurethanes, and C.A.S.E. (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers) markets, is preparing to strengthen its position in the Turkish lubricant additives market by collaborating with ADCO.

Johannes Ahammer, Senior Regional Account Manager at Vanderbilt Chemicals, met with lubricant manufacturers and industry professionals at the Special Additives for Lubricants and Greases Seminar organized by ADCO. During the seminar, he provided details on the technical features of Vanderbilt products.

Following the seminar, Ahammer gave an exclusive interview to Lubricant World, where he shared insights into Vanderbilt’s century-long expertise and vision in the additives sector. He also discussed their trust-based collaboration with ADCO and outlined Vanderbilt’s growth strategy.

In which sectors do you provide special additives?

We provide high-quality and high-performance additive components for automotive & industrial lubricants and greases. We have a broad range of chemistries for antioxidants, EP/AW additives, friction modifiers, and corrosion inhibitors. Our products come with strong technical support to help customers formulate their finished products. Our company has been in business for over 100 years, starting in 1916 in the USA.

How significant is the Turkish market for your business?

We have designated the Turkish market as an important growth target for our business. To demonstrate commitment, we have completed all product registrations for Turkish REACH (KKDIK) where we are the lead registrant (20 different products). The remainder of our products are awaiting LOA process which has been delayed by the Turkish government.

What are your goals for your collaboration with ADCO? What products and solutions will you introduce to the Turkish market?

Our primary goal was to find a trustworthy partner who could help us grow our petroleum additive business in the Turkish market. We believe we have found that partner in ADCO, to help us introduce high-performance additive components for use in lubricants and greases. We also offer strong technical support aimed at finding cost-effective solutions for Turkish customers.

Can you share Vanderbilt’s vision and future goals?

Our vision is to be the most trusted supplier of antioxidants, EP/AW additives, friction modifiers, and corrosion inhibitors in the lubricant industry.  We have specific goals to grow our business outside of North America and to introduce new products based on customer feedback and emerging market drivers.
