Turkey’s first and only integrated petrochemical complex Petkim received the “Top Exporter in the Aegean” and the “Top Exporter in the Chemical Industry” awards.
SOCAR Turkey’ subsidiary Petkim is awarded in two categories at the “Stars of Export 2017 Awards Ceremony” held by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations. Petkim received the title “Top Exporter in the Aegean Region” with its export of 671 million dollars in 2017; and it was also awarded the “Top Exporter in the Chemical Industry” in the region on the basis of the evaluation among the members of the Aegean Exporters’ Association members.
Petkim General Manager Anar Mammadov, who received the Stars of Export awards from the Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, noted that 2017 was a record year for them. Stating that last year they exported to 69 countries, Mammadov added: “As the first and only integrated petrochemical plant in Turkey, Petkim plays a major role in reducing the current account deficit in the Turkish petrochemical industry as well as in ensuring raw material security for industrialists. We continue to do the best for our country with our successful export performance in global markets. Carrying the title of the top exporter in the Aegean region will guide us in reaching our future goals.”
