IKMIB rewarded the stars of chemical exports

The chemical sector, which is one of the top three sectors in Turkey’s exports, reached 16.1 billion USD exports in 2017. Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Association (İKMİB) rewarded its top exporting members for their achievements in the last year. 120 awards in 24 categories were granted at the 2017 İKMİB Stars of Exports Awards ceremony held in Raffles Istanbul, Zorlu Center.

İKMİB, representing more than 10 thousand exporting companies in different sub-sectors of chemistry from plastic to cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, rubber, medical and paint, awarded sector representatives who realized 16.1 billion USD exports in 2017. The chemicals sector, holding the pulse of the industry and creating employment opportunity to more than 300 thousand people, has set a goal for realizing 18 billion USD exports for 2018. The chemicals sector increased its exports by 23.5 percent from February to March, and recorded 1 billion 565 million USD. The total exports in this sector increased by 1.85 percent compared to the previous year and reached 4 billion 186 million USD.

The awards ceremony was hosted by İKMİB Chairman Murat Akyüz. Republic of Turkey Deputy Minister of Economy Fatih Metin, President of TİM Mehmet Büyükekşi, Chairman of İSTOÇ Nahit Kemalbay, Chairman of Rubber Association Nurhan Kaya, Chairman of Lubricants and Petroleum Products Industry Association (MAPESAD) Tayfun Koçak, Chairman of Plastic Industries Association (PAGDER) Reha Gür, President of PLAT Association İmer Özer, Secretary General of Composite Industrialists Association İsmail Hakkı Hacıalioğlu, İMMİB Secretary General Armağan Vurdu, Members of İKMİB Board of Directors, and representatives of sector companies attended the ceremony. The most successful firms in 24 categories were awarded, and the first 5 companies with the highest export value in each sub-sector and product group of chemistry were awarded.

 

The top five companies in the category of lubricant exports are as follows:

1- Shell & Turcas

2- BP Petroleum

3- Petrol Ofisi A.Ş.

4- Reksoil Petrokimya San.

5- Mobil Oil Türk A.Ş.
