Shell Lubricants is the market leader for 11th consecutive year

Shell has maintained its leadership in Turkey and the global lubricants market in for 11 years. According to the Petroleum Industry Association (PETDER) report on Turkey market, Shell & Turcas Petrol A.Ş. has been recognized as the leader lubricants supplier in Turkey, and Shell Lubricants has been the ‘No. 1 Lubricants Supplier’ in the world for the 11th consecutive year according to the recently published lubricants market analysis report by Kline & Company, international consulting and research company.

Shell Lubricants General Manager Seyfettin Uzunçakmak indicated that they are proud to be the market leader in Turkey and the world for 11 years, and said: “We aim to meet and exceed the customer expectations, and support this concept with our products that we have developed with the latest technology. This allows us to maintain our leadership both in Turkey and global markets. With our patented PurePlus Technology that we launched in 2014, we produced engine oil from natural gas for the first time in the world. Shell Helix engine oils that we produce with the “PurePlus Technology” offer high performance and protection for passenger vehicles. Thanks to our innovation power, we continue to remain on top of the market both in Turkey and the world. Our goal is to provide high performance products to our customers and continue our leadership in the coming years.”

 Huge investment in R&D

Shell & Turcas manufactures, sells and markets a variety of lubricant products to meet customers’ needs, particularly in the automotive, construction, mining, transportation and general manufacturing industries.

Shell invests more than 1 billion dollar in R&D activities every year. The company has research laboratories specialized in lubricants in the US, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and Japan. Approximately 200 scientists and lubricant engineers working in these laboratories perform field trials of millions of kilometers each year. As a result of these efforts, it has more than 150 patents in the fields of lubricants, base oil and greases. Innovation works for motor sports, and collaborations with motor sport teams such as BMW, Hyundai and Ferrari play a key role in Shell’s R&D works on engine oils.
