What is the history of the name Olyslager?
Olyslager has a long history of excellence. In fact, Olyslager celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2020, a huge milestone for the company. And it all started in 1950 with our founding father, Piet Olyslager. He was a person with enormous passion for the automotive industry, had great drawing skills and therefore started to make the iconic Motor Manuals and associated FAQ handbooks.
It didn’t take long before he became part of the Bugatti and Talbot design team and continued to gather technical information from OEMs. Olyslager became the standard for technical information and produced their first lube charts for oil companies in the 60’s.
We still have his beautiful drawings hanging on the wall in our office and the Olyslager archive, with manuals going back to the T-Ford of 1909, is still there and one of the largest Automotive libraries of the world. I think he would be a proud man to see what Olyslager has achieved nowadays as the worldwide leader in the Lubricant Data Industry.
