Lubricants have wide range of applications in various sectors from automotive to industrial. In Türkiye, which is surrounded by three seas, the marine lubricants market is quite dynamic.

In this issue, we took a closer look at Alkim, which has extended its supply power and network through its partnership with Westbunker. Alkim offers a wide range of marine lubricants products under the brand name AKSOIL. Exporting to more than 100 countries on 7 continents, including Asia, Europe and America, the company is contributing to the Turkish economy.

In lubricant sector, it is crucial to respond to new technologies and changing user expectations, manage the compliance to standards, performance and the quality process of the products. With that in mind, in our sector where laboratory, R&D, innovation, and engineering activities are steaming ahead, Lubricant World had an opportunity to visit one of the leading facilities in Türkiye, Petrol Ofisi Technology Center (POTEM).

POTEM is not only one of the leading technology centers in Türkiye but also worldwide, with its cuttingedge equipment and machinery, comprehensive accreditation, nearly 200 testing methods, and university collaborations. With the kind hospitality of Petrol Ofisi Lubricants Director Sezgin Gürsu, we have been shown around the impressive facility, which is worthy of Petrol Ofisi’s market leadership with its technical infrastructure and competent expert team.

In this issue, the technical articles we featured, provide comprehensive information on our planet’s sustainable future, environmentally friendly production, and waste lubricant management.

In this issue, Martin Birze from The Lubrizol Corporation shared the overview of the changing industrial lubricants landscape from the EALs perspective. The other guest author Professor Emeritus Dr. Frederick van de Voort from McGill University contributed to our magazine with the technical article on FTIR spectroscopy and explained the essence of the methodology.
