61st Issue Is Out Now

As we welcome the summer season, the lubricants industry continues to maintain a dynamic agenda. While the energy transition, electrification investments, sustainability goals, and evolving customer expectations are reshaping our industry, companies are developing new strategies to adapt to this transformation. As Lubricant World, we remain committed to closely following the commercial, technical, and strategic developments shaping the sector and bringing the latest insights to our valued readers.

On the cover of this issue, we feature MAPA, a company with nearly half a century of experience in the lubricants industry. Building on its strong heritage while investing in the future, MAPA continues to strengthen its position as a trusted solution partner through its robust logistics infrastructure, extensive operational network, technical expertise, and long-standing business partnerships. In our exclusive interview with Şükrü Uzandaç, Member of the Board and Finance Director, we discuss the company’s growth strategy, supply chain approach, and vision for the future.

Another key topic in this issue focuses on electrification and the future of energy infrastructure, which lie at the heart of the global energy transition. In our in-depth interview with Güney Devrim İldiri, General Manager of Nynas Türkiye and Central Asia, we explore energy security, sustainability, asset life management, and the transformation of energy infrastructure. We believe this interview—offering valuable perspectives on electrification investments, data centers, renewable energy projects, and next-generation insulating fluids—will serve as an important resource for industry professionals.

Our technical section once again delivers insightful content. Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Durak presents a mechatronics-assisted approach to conventional viscometers used in tribology applications, while Tayfun Yılmaz shares valuable insights into friction management and performance optimization in open gear greases. We sincerely thank both experts for contributing their knowledge to our readers.

This issue’s columnists also offer two complementary perspectives. Prof. Dr. Filiz Karaosmanoğlu examines high-carbon-footprint lubricants from a sustainability perspective, while Umut Arslan discusses the evolving lubrication requirements of electric vehicles. We are grateful to both authors for their valuable contributions.

In our Panorama section, we cover a wide range of industry developments, from aviation and international collaborations to major sector events and corporate news. We also bring you on-the-ground coverage of NYCO and its Turkish distributor ADCO at SAHA Istanbul and Aviation Week MRO BEER, where they showcased their latest solutions and engaged with industry stakeholders.

As we enter the summer season, we wish our industry continued growth driven by production, investment, and collaboration, and we hope the months ahead bring health, productivity, and success to all our readers.

Enjoy the issue!
