The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) has released data for 2025. Total production reached 1,419,464 units, marking a 4% increase compared to 2024. However, automobile production declined by 4% year-on-year, totaling 872,538 units. Including tractor production, total output amounted to 1,445,921 units. In the commercial vehicle segment, production rose by 19% in 2025, with light commercial vehicles increasing by 21% and heavy commercial vehicles by 1%. Compared to 2024, the commercial vehicle market expanded by 8%, the light commercial vehicle market by 10%, while the heavy commercial vehicle market contracted by 4%. In 2025, total automotive exports increased by 4% in unit terms compared to the previous year, while automobile exports fell by 8%. During this period, total exports reached 1,057,920 units, with automobile exports accounting for 599,687 units. The total market in 2025 closed at 1,413,903 units, representing a 10% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. The automobile market also grew by 11%, reaching 1,084,496 units.
The Automotive Industry Association (OSD), the umbrella organization of the sector with 13 members steering the Turkish automotive industry, announced the production, export, and market data for 2025. According to the figures, total automotive production rose by 4% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1,419,464 units. Automobile production, however, declined by 4%, totaling 872,539 units. Including tractor production, total output reached 1,445,921 units.
In 2025, commercial vehicle production increased by 19%, light commercial vehicles by 21%, and heavy commercial vehicles by 1% compared to the previous year. During this period, the industry’s capacity utilization rate reached 67%. By vehicle group, utilization rates were 68% for light vehicles (cars + light commercial vehicles), 57% for trucks, 68% for buses and minibuses, and 35% for tractors.
2025 Exports Reach $41.5 Billion
In 2025, automotive exports rose by 4% in unit terms compared to the previous year, reaching 1,057,920 units. During this period, car exports declined by 8%, while commercial vehicle exports surged by 28%. Tractor exports also fell by 13% compared to 2024, totaling 11,261 units.
According to data from the Turkish Exporters’ Council, the automotive industry led sectoral export rankings in 2025 with a 17.6% share. Based on figures from the Uludağ Exporters’ Associations (UİB), total automotive exports reached $41.5 billion. During the same period, automobile exports rose by 4% to $11.8 billion. In dollar terms, main industry exports increased by 15%, while supply industry exports grew by 6%.
Domestic Market Increased by 10%
In 2025, the total market expanded by 10% compared to the previous year, reaching 1,413,903 units. During this period, the automobile market grew by 11%, reaching 1,084,496 units. Compared to the previous year, the total commercial vehicle market increased by 8%, the light commercial vehicle market by 10%, while the heavy commercial vehicle market declined by 4%.
In the January–December 2025 period, the share of domestically produced vehicles in automobile sales was 30%, while the share in the light commercial vehicle market stood at 22%.
