Azerbaijan names new energy minister

According to the announcement made by the Azerbaijan Presidency, Parviz Shahbazov is appointed as the new Energy Minister of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on October 12 appointing Parviz Shahbazov as the new energy minister of Azerbaijan.

Shahbazov, having served as the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Ambassador in Germany from 2005 to 2016, was born in 1969. He graduated from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy in 1992. He became the chairman of OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation in 2005.

Previous Energy Minister Natig Aliyev died of a heart attack in June.
