Mercedes-Benz Classic has introduced newly developed motor oils designed specifically to protect classic and modern classic vehicles. These oils provide superior protection against invisible corrosion that can occur in engines during long idle periods, while also improving compatibility with seals and gaskets.
The new product line comes in two viscosity grades:
- 20W-50: Tailored for iconic models of the 1950s and 1960s, such as the 300 SL “Gullwing” (W 198) and the “Stroke/8” series (W 114/W 115).
- 10W-40: Developed for more modern classics from the 1970s onwards, including the first S-Class (W 116) and the C-Class (W 204), offering optimal cold-start performance and reduced friction.
Available at the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Fellbach and through the European Classic Partner network, the oils are sold in 1-liter and 5-liter metal cans. Distribution has already started in Germany, the UK, Austria, and Switzerland.
Alexandra Süß, Head of Spare Parts, Archive and Collection at Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH, commented:
“With this special motor oil, Mercedes-Benz Classic sets new standards in its class. It protects engines even during long periods of inactivity, preserving their performance.”
Developed for collectors and enthusiasts, these oils aim to ensure that Mercedes-Benz classics can continue to be enjoyed by future generations with the same passion.
